A Prisoner In My Mind

by:  Mazelle Stirtmire Webster

With many painful trials,
Torment in great degree,
Demons capturing my mind,
Please loose, set this soul free.

The past fears are the tools you use,
Entrapments of all kinds
Project in memory’s camera,
With force, entrap my mind.

If I could but erase those parts
That try to take control,
Invoke a total healing,
Repair my wounded soul.

Oh my dear Lord, I need you.
The damage is far too great.
Please father, with your healing power,
Restore me from this fate.

I beg for your forgiveness.
Lord, cleanse me from my sin.
Remove these sinful, angry thoughts
So you can enter in.

‘Twas in great desperation
That I came to the Lord
Asked for his forgiveness,
Was forgiven and restored.

My mind no more imprisoned.
No chains are binding me.
If from your chains you want release,
Trust Christ and be set free.
